Blame the devil

(More blog entries from marty)

Krissy Fraser made me do it. We're teammates for this ride and she convinced me  to do this. She's promised to eventually tell me who else is on the team. Krissy's the one who once got me to play on-snow golf on a team which came in last and charmed me into snowboarding more than once over a coffin-like fun box in a terrain park which resulted in multiple falls on what would become my black and blue butt. So my expectations of our team finishing near the bottom of the bunch are sound. Today we mountain biked seven miles along the Saco River at Attitash on tight singletrack, sandy portions,  bridges, over a downed tree and on some two-track. Krissy - really - has a devil on her handlebars. It's her horn. The devil made her make me do it.

So what's the team name? The Devil Wears Verge?

It's all about the lights. The night riding is absolutely the most fun you'll have in this race. It all becomes focused on that beam out front. So get good lights and make sure you get to do the sun-up lap. If you're on that lap you might even hear bag pipes again this year!

I think the bag pipes will go well with the voices I expect to be hearing in my head around that time.

Marty, Marty, Marty, Krissy is responsible for so many bad decisions by so many people. Hold on to your very soul.
