FINAL POINTS

For eight weeks, skiers of all abilities challenge themselves on a 5km course with prizes awarded in age categories and through a raffle. With an adjustment system, all ages can compete on a level playing field.

The series runs every Tuesday (except February 16) for eight weeks starting January 5 through March 2. Participants race against the clock on our 5km Nordic Meister course in the Skate and/or Classic category. The series consists of eight weeks of timed runs with the six best times selected for series-end standings. The timing desk is open and available between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:45 pm. All participants must check in with the starters prior to starting timed runs and all runs must be completed by 4:00 pm. Results are posted on the website and published in the Conway Daily Sun each week.

New in 2010: Snowshoe Divsion!
This year, Nordic Meisters isn't just about skiing; it's also about snowshoeing! Snowshoe racing is increasing in popularity, and Great Glen Trails has great terrain for a run in the snow. Snowshoers will have their courses to choose from, but the fun will be exactly the same.

The snowshoe courses will be located on the singletrack to the south and west of the Great Glen Trails lodge. The long course will be just over 3k and feature a stout climb in the middle of the course with a fun downhill on the way back to the finish. The short course will use the new Glen Amble Snowshoe Loop. The snowshoe racers will not use the age adjustment system, but an untimed division will be offered.

An awards party will be held on March 13 at the end of the series with the top three skiers and snowshoers in each class awarded trophies, while all participants completing six out of eight weeks are entered into a prize raffle. (Must be present to win.) You don't need to be fast to win your share of the $5,000 prize pool!
