Preparations Underway for 24 Hours of Great Glen

(More news)
Pinkham Notch, NH—The 24 Hours of Great Glen will be held on August 11-12, 2007, and space for racers is still available and volunteers are needed.

Now in it’s 12th year, the 24 Hours of Great Glen begins at noon on August 11 and runs until noon on August 12. Competitors race around the clock and may compete solo or in teams of 2, 4 or 5 for a total purse of more than $10,000 in cash and prizes. Not just a mountain bike race, the 24 Hours of Great Glen is a weekend-long event for the whole family with contests and games, including the 24 Minutes of Great Glen—a mountain bike race for the kids.

What has made this race successful for the past eleven years has been volunteers. And volunteers are needed again this year. Volunteers are needed for shifts around the clock to assist as course marshals, timers and other positions. All volunteers will receive lunch, t-shirt and trail pass for Great Glen Trails.

Course preparations are underway on the 8.5-mile course that utilizes the carriage roads and single track at Great Glen Trails. Registered teams are welcome to come to Great Glen Trails to take a look at the course before the big event.

Spaces are still available for teams, and registration is available online at www.24HoursOfGreatGlen.com. To volunteer to assist during the 24 Hours of Great Glen contact Mary Power or Amy Kuzma at 603.466.2333, mary@greatlglentrails.com or amy@greatglentrails.com.

Great Glen Trails is open daily for mountain biking and paddling.
