300 Minutes of Nordic Racing at Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center

(More news)
Pinkham Notch, NH—On February 4, 2007, Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center hosts the Great Glen Nordic 300, 300 consecutive minutes of cross country ski racing.

The Great Glen Nordic 300 is a 300-minute cross country ski race for solo racers or teams of two. The goal is to ski as many laps of the 6-kilometer course as possible within the 300-minute time limit. Teams can be of mixed age and gender, and teams can use either skate or classic technique.

“We have a reputation for hosting unique events, and this five-hour race is no exception,” said Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center Director of Marketing Ryan Triffitt. “And I can’t think of a better way to work up an appetite for a SuperBowl party than by Nordic skiing for five hours.”

In summer, Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center hosts the 24 Hours of Great Glen, a 24-hour mountain bike race; the Great Glen Nordic 300 is the winter equivalent. The Great Glen Nordic 300 is open to anyone interested in trying their hand at a skiing endurance event, not just experienced racers.
