If you’re ready to try a new sport, this is the program for you. Our fastest growing program has turned hundreds of people on to this awesome sport. You don’t need any paddling experience to enroll, just a willingness to try something new. Bring a friend or two as we do have a two-person minimum for this program.
We took twelve of our senior Boy Scouts and parents to Great Glen Trails to learn whitewater Kayaking. Nate and Eric were our instructors and did an outstanding job of taking the whole group through the fundamentals and then after about an hour and half of instruction we were ready to take the white water Rapids. Our crew had a lot of fun and the instruction was excellent and well paced. We also learned the whole history of the area and a lot about the hydrology of the river and how it works. It’s a thrill packed day and and these guys we’re totally excited about showing us their world.
Our Beginner Program focuses on paddling basics and safety, and we’ll make sure you’re having fun on the water the first day out. The skills you will learn will allow you to continue in the sport. During the course, you will learn how to wet exit, perform aggressive self rescues, paddle your boat in every direction, read river hydrology, practice eddy turns and peel outs, ferrying across the river, braces and more. Program runs 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
COST: Adult – $110; Child – please call
