An Early Morning Foggy Run

I went for a run this morning on our trail system, but I was a little hesitant. I was the only one here, and it was really really foggy, which kinda creeps me out. Trail running was the scheduled workout for today so I really had to do it. As I was running, my mind was forcing my eyes to scan the trail for any animal that would come out of the fog and get me. I realized I wasn’t enjoying my run so I tried focusing my mind to the sounds I was hearing and I wasn’t scared anymore, well not as scared. The birds were chirping, water was running from anywhere it could, and my footsteps on the gravel kept me occupied. The dampness of the forest made everything look so alive which made me feel just the same. I was able to run without the sounds of a city and just felt so lucky to be living in the mountains, which reminded me of a quote “If you’re lucky enough to be in the mountains, you’re lucky enough.” And man am I lucky! If you find yourself in this situation and you are debating whether or not to run or walk in the rain, fog, snow, or sleet just go for it and have fun! -Meg
