24 Hours of Great Glen

Moat Mountain 24 Hours of Great Glen, the most beloved and iconic mountain bike race in New England, returns again in 2024. We travel to outer space for the race, camping, parties, kids events, live music and bash celebrating the most delicious suds around made by Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewery.

This year is the 24th Anniversary of Moat Mountain, our 24th 24 Hour Race, in year 2024. WHOAAAA.

The magic of this race is the vibe. It’s about the encouragement from your fellow 475 riders. High fives, cheers, support from strangers, heartache, victory, and sore legs. It’s about perseverance, costumes, the music, the quiet riding at night, the beer, the party, grilled cheese, the campground scene … come live the experience and become part of the history here at the Glen. 

The course itself is a roughly 9 mile loop that winds its way around the carriage roads, doubletrack, bridges, and technical singletrack at the base of Mt. Washington. The course features challenging segments such as the infamous floating bridge over the Glen Pond.

Racers can join in any of the race categories in the 24 or 12 Hour divisions. There are NO minimum lap requirements per racer. Ride as many laps as you can in a 24 or 12 hour period.

24 Hour Race Categories:

• Solo (M / F)
• Solo Single Speed (M / F)
• Team of 2 (M / F / co-ed)
• Team of 4 (beginner, sport, or expert M / F / co-ed)*
• Team of 5 (co-ed / untimed)

12 Hour Race Categories:

• Solo (M / F)
• Solo Junior
• Team of 2 (M / F / co-ed)
• Team of 4 (co-ed / Junior)

* Beginner: a new or recreational racer with limited riding time
* Sport: a rider of average ability who may or may not have raced before
* Expert: an experienced racer that is looking for a challenge
